Alex never intended to be in the film industry. In fact, ever since he was little, he wanted to pencil comic books. Or be a paleontologist. That all changed though when his older brother Ethan and friend Josh Reichlin asked for help making a movie when he was 8 years old. Alex has never looked back. Nowadays, he tries to combine those two loves as a writer and director, with many short films to his credit varying in lengths and genres, as well as an illustrator, who has produced work for motion graphics, storyboards, character and production design.

He currently attends Columbia College Chicago for film, where his illustrations were displayed for the Sketchy IV exhibition at the Hokin Gallery. Also, Alex was proudly accepted and then shamefully rejected by the Asian American Film Showcase, has had his work televised on the Independent Film Channel and PBS, and is now a Peabody Award winning filmmaker. When Alex isn't tearing into a project full bore, with fervor and dedication, he loves reading comics, drinking ginger beer, listening to the blues and hopefully smoking a good cigar.
